Blue Diamonds - Oceans and Coasts - the newsletter of the Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities (GPA)

You may be interested to follow this newsletter edition which focuses extensively on environment mainstreaming' and contains articles from various authors. Additionally, the Third Intergovernmental Review on the Implementation of the Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities (IGR-3) will take place at the Shangri-La EDSA Hotel in Manila from 25-27 January 2012. This meeting will be a once in 5 year opportunity to guide the future direction and focus of the GPA.  It will be preceded by the Global Conference on Land-Ocean Connections, 23-24 January 2012.

Port Phillip Taxonomic Toolkit - just brilliant

Thanks to friends at Marine Care Ricketts Point we've been alerted to a new set of online tools that has been posted by Museum Victoria. 


Those wishing to identify and research denizens of the deep in southern Australian waters will find some excellent assistance here 


Inspired by the rich and diverse local habitats the Port Phillip Taxonomic Toolkit will help make it easy for students to find information, data and images about marine animals and plants for monitoring and documenting. Read more…
